Today we had a very successful VE test session at MT. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT. This was a specially-scheduled exam, capping off a two day Technician License Study Class. The Class was presented by

Rob Mather, N1XSS

Jeff Katchen WB2NWR

Chris Knox, N1GBB

They had 16 people participate in the classroom instruction, then take the Tech exam on Sunday afternoon.  The exams were administered by a Volunteer Examiner team that did not take part in the classroom sessions.

Our Examiners were:

John Stultz, AA8IS

Ken Downs, W1KRT

Dave Wilbur, K1ZS

I am pleased to report that every single one of the class passed their Technician License exam. Due to the number of examinees, I am not posting the entire list. There were several from the local region, but also some from as far away as Cabot and Fayston, VT. They will all be receiving their new call signs soon, and we look forward to hearing them on the air. Please join us in welcoming any new calls you hear on the local repeaters!

I would like to thank the entire VE team for your dedication to the cause.

Bruce Beford, N1RX

CVFMA VE team liaison

Our test sessions are made possible with the assistance of our facilitator at the hospital, Doug Ensley, KB1THP.

The exam dates for 2018 will be: March 10th, June 9th, September 8th and December 8th. Going forward, these will always be on the first Saturday of these months, unless communicated otherwise.

I would like to thank the entire CVFMA volunteer examiner team for your generous donations of time and talent. I would also like to wish each of you and your families and a very happy and safe holiday season.

Respectfully submitted,

Bruce C. Beford, N1RX

Volunteer Examiner Team Leader
